EM 2024 - This channel is showing Germany's round of 16 match - and which game is not on free TV

The TV broadcasters have announced the match-ups for the quarterfinals of the Football European Championship. The first knockout stage match between Switzerland and Italy (6:00 PM) will be freely broadcast on RTL. The following match Germany against Denmark (9:00 PM) will be aired on ZDF.

All matches will also be shown by the pay-per-view provider MagentaTV. Annoyingly for many fans: The duel between surprise team and EM hidden favorites Austria and Turkey will take place on Tuesday at 9:00 PM exclusively on Magenta TV.

Transparency note: The star is part of RTL Germany.

  1. Fans in Denmark hoping to watch the Quarterfinals of the European Football Championship may tune into ZDF, as they will be airing the match between Germany and Denmark at 9:00 PM.
  2. In addition to traditional TV broadcasters, all matches, including the RTL-broadcasted Switzerland vs Italy game and the MagentaTV-exclusive Austria vs Turkey match, can be viewed via pay-per-view provider MagentaTV.
  3. German television channel ZDF will not only broadcast the Germany vs Denmark quarterfinal match but also the preceding Spain vs Georgia match during the European Football Championship, showcasing their commitment to European football.
  4. Despite ZDF and ARD's extensive coverage of the European Football Championship, including Germany's matches, the Quarterfinal between Austria and Turkey will only be available on MagentaTV, potentially causing controversy among critics and fans.
