Since Thursday (11th of July), the Minions with "I'm Still Unbeatable 4" are back in German cinemas. The release date for their third solo adventure is now set. Fans of the yellow helpers will have to practice patience, as "Minions 3" is not scheduled to hit cinemas until June 30, 2027. Industry magazines like "Variety" report this based on a statement from production companies Universal and Illumination.

In the USA, "I'm Still Unbeatable 4" started on July 3 of this year. The long holiday weekend around Independence Day on July 4 proved profitable for the family film. The calculation paid off, as "I'm Still Unbeatable 4" earned over 250 million dollars worldwide in its first week. And that, despite the fact that the animation fun in some markets, like Germany, only started to roll out then.

Original Director Pierre Coffin Returns for "Minions 3"

Some personnel details about the third installment featuring Stuart, Kevin, Bob, and co. have already been revealed. Pierre Coffin (57), a Frenchman, is set to direct "Minions 3". He previously directed the first three films in the "I'm Still Unbeatable" series and also voiced the Minions in the original version. Chris Renaud (57) took over the direction for the fourth film about the supervillain Gru, while Kyle Balda (53) was in charge for "Minions 2".

Brian Lynch (scriptwriter) is set to write the script for "Minions 3". He previously penned the scripts for the first two Minions films and also wrote the animated hit "Pets".

Introduced as secondary characters in the first installment of "I'm Still Unbeatable", the Minions quickly became the main stars of the franchise. Spin-offs focusing on the yellow figures, who have served the biggest villain of their time since the beginning, were just a formality.

The upcoming movie "Minions 3" is anticipated to hit cinemas in the United States of America on June 30, 2027, marking the Independence Day celebration. Originally directed by Pierre Coffin, who also voiced the Minions in the original version, the third installment of the "I'm Still Unbeatable" series will feature Stuart, Kevin, and Bob. Industry reports suggest that Brian Lynch will write the script for "Minions 3," the same writer who penned the scripts for the first two Minions films and the animated hit "Pets."
