Queen Maxima and Princess Anne - They show themselves from different sides
The European royals couldn't miss the opportunity to cheer on their athletes at the Olympic Games in Paris. So, on Saturday (27. July), King Willem-Alexander (57) and Queen Maxima (53), as well as Crown Princess Amalia (20) and Princess Alexia (19), attended the Men's Hockey opening match, which the Netherlands won. The family was enthusiastic about the game and kept raising their arms in the air in delight.
On Sunday, they showed their emotions at the Women's Cross-Country MTB Race, where Dutch rider Puck Pieterse (22) narrowly missed a medal due to a rear wheel defect. The Royals displayed a rollercoaster of feelings. They cheered, shouted, and eventually put their hands over their heads or held them in front of their mouths.

One member of the Royal Family followed a more relaxed event on the previous Saturday (27. July). Princess Anne (73), the younger sister of King Charles III. (75) and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II. (1926-2022), attended the 7er-Rugby match between France and Fiji. She sat on the tribune with her husband Sir Timothy Laurence (69). She wore a blue blouse, a black blazer, and her signature sports sunglasses.
After her head injury from an accident at the end of June, Princess Anne attended the IOC's opening ceremony for the Olympic Summer Games in Paris on July 23. She also participated in a reception for the British Olympic Team at the British embassy in Paris or visited the Athletics team during training.
Princess Anne has a special bond with the Olympics. She was the first member of the British Royal Family to participate in Olympic Games. She competed in the Olympic Games 1976 in Montreal and finished 9th in the Eventing equestrian team. Since 1988, Anne has been a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
