Elderly media mogul Rupert Murdoch (93) and Austrian builder Richard "Mörtel" Lugner (91) both got hitched back in June this year. Something interesting about these two men is that they both got married at a very advanced age. Here are five more celebrity weddings where the groom was older than 85 years.

Anna Nicole Smith weds the 89-year-old J. Howard Marshall

Back in 1994, model Anna Nicole Smith (1967-2007) generated quite a commotion. The 26-year-old married oil magnate J. Howard Marshall (1905-1995) from Texas. In a Netflix documentary called "Anna Nicole Smith: You Don't Know Me," a close friend of the late starlet shared that Smith and Marshall first met in a strip club where the bride used to dance.

Marshall, who was rumored to be one of the wealthiest men in the United States, passed away just 14 months after the wedding, kickstarting a legal battle over the inheritance between Anna Nicole Smith and her stepson E. Pierce Marshall (1939-2006).

Dick Van Dyke marries Arlene Silver at 86

At 86, American entertainer Dick Van Dyke (98) walked down the aisle with makeup artist Arlene Silver back in 2012. Known for his role in the original "Mary Poppins" film from 1964, Van Dyke had been married before, from 1948 to 1984.

Silver, whom he met backstage at an awards ceremony, said good things about her husband: "He's the most amazing person I've ever met. I've never met anyone so happy, so real, so incredible. He's like a lucky charm."

Freddy Quinn marries at 91

Just about a year ago, Schlager legend Freddy Quinn (92) tied the knot. This wasn't his first time at the altar: Quinn married for the first time in 1956, but his wife, Lilli Blessmann (1918-2008), died in 2008. His second wedding with Rosi Nidl-Petz, whom he had known for 30 years, had Quinn cracking a joke to the registrar, as per "Bild" newspaper: "Oh...please speak louder. I don't have my hearing aid in."

Richard "Mörtel" Lugner marries his "Bee"

A few more times than Van Dyke and Quinn, Austrian construction mogul Richard Lugner (91) has made it to the altar. His recent wedding with Simone Reiländer (42) made it his sixth.

Dubbed "Mörtel" by Austrians, Lugner is known for his elaborate dates to the Vienna Opera Ball, such as Jane Fonda (86) and Priscilla Presley (79). Lugner nicknamed his wife-to-be "Bee" and the wedding was streamed live in several Austrian media.

Rupert Murdoch says "I do" at 93

In June this year, Australian media tycoon Rupert Murdoch (93) got hitched for the fifth time. His bride is Jerry Hall (66), a former model and actress. The two have been together since 2015.

Much like Lugner, Murdoch has undergone four marriages. His plan to wed Ann Lesley Smith (67), the widow of country singer Chester Smith (1930-2008), was scrapped two weeks before the wedding, according to "Vanity Fair" magazine, and he ended up marrying Russian molecular biologist Elena Zhukova (67).
