"From World Stars and Snoopers: What's New to Stream This Week.

"Land of Women"

Eva Longoria plays the housewife again, but this time she's not despairing in a suburban area in the USA, but is on the run. "Land of Women" is the name of the new miniseries on AppleTV+. And it promises plenty of drama and enjoyment. "Desperate Housewives"-star Longoria plays the New Yorker Gala, who leads a glamorous life. Her husband has financially ruined himself and is being pursued by gangsters due to enormous debts. With her mother and her daughters, Gala flees to Spain, to the ancestral home of her mother. All good? Far from it. The observant villagers watch the three city women suspiciously and gossip creates a lot of stir. The other roles are played by Carmen Maura ("Volver"), up-and-coming talent Victoria Bazúa and Santiago Cabrera ("Star Trek: Picard").

"I Am: Céline Dion"

With ballads like "My Heart Will Go On" or "Because You Loved Me," Celine Dion sang her way into the hearts of people all over the world. Blessed with a beautiful voice, the Canadian counts among the most successful stars of the pop industry with over 250 million sold albums, with a preference for romance and big feelings. Privately, the singer went through difficult times. In 2016, her husband René Angélil died, father of her three children. Two days later, her brother died of cancer. The singer fought her way back to life. The documentary "I Am: Céline Dion" now provides insights into the professional and private life of the singer. It also deals with her fight against the rare autoimmune disease that was diagnosed in her in 2022 and which she faces bravely. Regie is being led by documentary filmmaker Irene Taylor. The film is available on Prime Video.

"Commissar Bäckström"

The clearance rate of Evert Bäckström is 100%, if not for this one unsolved case: The murder of his childhood friend Sally was never solved. For the Stockholm detective, this has been an emotional tightrope walk – and also a wound to his ego for years. Bäckström considers himself the best in his field. In the new episode "The Unsolved Case," the Swedish TV commissioner sees his hour come: To find Sally's murderer, he flies under the radar of his superior to Mallorca, where he lands directly in an ongoing murder case. Six new cases of the third season are now available to binge in the ARD Mediathek. Linear broadcast will begin on ARD on July 21 and continue weekly.

"Princess Charming"

In the fourth season of the lesbian dating show on RTL+, Lea Hoppenworth is on the hunt for true love. She is 30 years old and from Berlin. "It's an absolutely unique experience and I enjoy new – perhaps even a little crazy – challenges. I'm looking for a person with whom I can grow," she said in an RTL+ interview. Under the Thai sun, the new Princess has the opportunity to get to know the 20 singles closer on group and individual dates and to give her heart away. Between whom will it spark on the holiday island Koh Samui? Ten new episodes start on July 3. Linear broadcast begins on July 10 on the free-TV channel Vox Up."
