The Unsatisfied Residents of Fürther won't Tolerate Jahn's Regensburg

Greuther Fürth keeps the winning streak alive, crushing Jahn Regensburg 4-0.

Jahn Regensburg - Greuther Fürth 0:4

Greuther Fürth hasn't tasted defeat in the 2. Bundesliga yet. The team secured a resounding 4-0 victory over promoted outfit Jahn Regensburg, temporarily moving into second place in the table. Goalkeeper Nahuel Noll maintained a clean sheet, despite the backlash faced by coach Alexander Zorniger following his error last week.

Marco Meyerhöfer scored his initial 2. Bundesliga goal, placing the visitors ahead after just four minutes. They extended their lead with an early second-half strike from Noel Futkeu (49th minute). Regensburg struggled to find a way back into the game, with 13,105 spectators looking on. Greuther Fürth's captain Branimir Hrgota made it 3-0 (77th minute), while Julian Green completed a superb finish in the corner (88th minute).

Greuther Fürth dominated from the outset. Dennis Srebny's attempt was cleared off the line by Regensburg (3rd minute), but Meyerhöfer eventually found the net after a corner from Hrgota. Regensburg fought back, only to be thwarted by the reliable Noll on multiple occasions. After the second goal, Regensburg had no answer. Greuther Fürth's superior technical skill held up in the sweltering Bavarian heat, but they also squandered several opportunities.

Fortuna Düsseldorf - Hannover 96 1:0

Fortuna Düsseldorf now leads the 2. Bundesliga following their victory over Hannover 96 by a narrow 1-0 margin (0:0). After going 17 games unbeaten across seasons, their coach Daniel Thioune's side remains unscathed in the league. Danny Schmidt scored the decisive goal in a rebound (59th minute), giving the hosts a substantial 10-point cushion from four games. However, 1. FC Kaiserslautern could leapfrog them on Saturday with a dominating performance against Hertha BSC. Hannover suffered their first defeat of the season, conceding their inaugural goal.

The guests initially held the upper hand, but Fortuna created the first chance: Tim Rossmann made a move on the Hannover goal, passing to Schmidt, but Max Christiansen saved for Zieler (15th minute). The hosts continued to dictate play, increasing their tempo as the half wore on. Felix Klaus's shot was denied by Zieler's quick reflexes (36th minute), and Dawid Kownacki narrowly missed the crossbar (37th minute).

After the break, the hosts took control, eventually scoring a goal: Zieler saved Kownacki's shot but failed to stop Schmidt's rebound. Jona Niemiec had an opportunity to double the lead (82nd minute), only to miss.

Greuther Fürth's impressive Soccer performance against Jahn Regensburg resulted in a 4-0 win, with Marco Meyerhöfer and Noel Futkeu scoring early goals.

Despite Hannover 96 taking the initiative in their match against Fortuna Düsseldorf, it was the hosts who notched the only goal, thanks to Danny Schmidt's rebound, demonstrating their strong Soccer skills.
