Brad Pitt (60) new racing film takes shape. It was reported that Pitt was spotted at Silverstone on Thursday (4. July) for filming the Formula-1 race scene. Apple Films announced additional details about the film on Friday (5. July).
The film is named "F1" according to the official title. Apple Original Films also released the first poster. It features the release date in summer 2025, as well as Brad Pitt wearing a race helmet. In the article, it is announced that there will be a sneak peek of the film on the coming Sunday (7. July) at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone.

The Hollywood star takes on the role of Sonny Hayes, a former driver who returns to Formula 1. Damson Idris (32) portrays an up-and-coming racer, with Pitt's character serving as his mentor. Javier Bardem (55) embodies the owner of their team. "Outlander" star Tobias Menzies (50) and Kerry Condon (41) also join the cast. Joseph Kosinski (50) directs, with Jerry Bruckheimer (80) producing.
Apple TV+ announced at the end of June when the film about Formula 1 will hit theaters. In Germany, it's set for June 26, 2025. In the US, it's a day later. Apple has entered into a cooperation with the distribution company Warner Bros. for the cinema release, as announced by the streaming service in a press release. The length of time the racing spectacle will play in theaters before moving to streaming is still unknown. According to "The Hollywood Reporter," it's at least 30 days.
