Lena Meyer-Landrut - The singer must 'pull the ripcord'
Lena Meyer-Landrut (33) cancelled all remaining concerts of her tour for her album "Loyal to myself" on Wednesday (24. July). "Unfortunately, we also have to cancel the last shows in Stuttgart and Echternach," it says in an Instagram Story on the musician's account. A large part of the shows had almost sold out and it was therefore all the more painful to disappoint so many people, explains "Team Lena" in the statement.
In another story, the singer spoke herself in an audiobot: "It breaks my heart and I so wished I didn't have to make this announcement." She had to cancel the remaining shows this year for health reasons. "I wanted to make a little personal message so you don't just get an impersonal text, but also a few words from me." She had enjoyed playing the live shows for the fans so much, which she had put on their feet night after night with her crew and the band with so much heart and soul.
Additionally, Meyer-Landrut addressed her health issues. On Sunday, she had been to the emergency room for the third time in the last few weeks with severe cramps before the show. It always catches her and her crew and the band, and of course also you fans, unexpectedly, and every time it's a shock that's not pleasant for anyone. That's why she had to pull the plug. Cancelling shows "is just absolutely crappy, it feels totally wrong, but it's not an option," the singer emphasizes. She's taking a short break now and taking care of her health "and then I'll be back," she promises. "Have a nice summer."
The concerts were planned for July 26 in Stuttgart and July 27 in Echternach. Previously, Lena Meyer-Landrut had already had to cancel concerts in Regensburg, Ansbach, Munich, or Wangen due to health complaints.
Despite the cancellation announcement on Instagram, Lena Meyer-Landrut expressed her regret in an audiobot, admitting that she had to miss the rope line in Stuttgart and Echternach due to health issues. Many fans were looking forward to her concert there, as several shows in other cities had also been cancelled earlier due to similar reasons.
