The Regent E Strada - nobler travel trailer for two persons

Not even six meters long, but with individual beds and designed for travel for two: This is the new Regent E, based on the Mercedes Sprinter. A high-end, compact Camper-Van from La Strada, but only for buyers with well-filled bank accounts.

The small, yet elegant Recreational Vehicle manufacturing company La Strada, based in Hesse, Echzell, is known for both high-end and high-priced vehicles. This doesn't stop the Hessians from catering to the general trend of compact campers and presenting a correspondingly sized new product at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon (30. August to 8. September): The La Strada Regent E is a 5.93-meter-long cargo van based on Mercedes-Sprinter, designed exclusively for a two-person crew, who can still enjoy the comfort of individual beds at the rear. However, they must pay at least 105,000 Euro for it.

La Strada is not the first manufacturer to implement transverse beds on such cramped dimensions in series production. The question is always how to compensate for this. Typically, the bathroom, kitchen, and storage space suffer. However, the Regent E is different. Why keep a fixed two-seater bench when only two people are traveling? So, get rid of it. The swivel front seats with a removable table must be sufficient for coziness in intimate twosomeness.

Closet and kitchen block

View from front to back: The La Strada Regent E has swiveling front seats and a pillar table.

Instead, there's room, where a supplementary seat is usually installed, for a narrow wardrobe with a clothes hanger and a pull-out shelf. In the kitchen block with a two-burner stove and sink, the refrigerator moves to the front. This has practical advantages because it is easily accessible from both the inside and outside, but it reduces the storage space for kitchen utensils to a row of drawers and the upper cabinet.

The bathroom-toilet compartment transforms into a functional shower, thanks to a cleverly designed folding washbasin solution, without obstructing the aisle.

In the rear, La Strada promises a comfortable sleep with the two longitudinally installed single beds, each 2.00 and 1.85 meters long, with pocket springs and cold foam mattresses.

Bad with folding bathtub.

Flexible and variable

The entire rear design is geared towards a high degree of flexibility and variability. So, with an awning and additional mattress elements, the two beds in the upper part can be combined into a sleeping surface, and the bed ends can be converted, a novelty, into a seating group for two with a few hand grips. In this case, the table from the front is installed in the floor between the beds. Sleeping would still be possible without disassembly, as the retained sidewall widths would still leave room for a cross bed in the dimensions 1.98 x 1.37 meters.

More likely, however, the space under the single beds will be used as a spacious trunk. Either in the central cabinet with hinged doors that open towards the interior, or with an extended trunk for bulky luggage, or even with the raised bed ends for a suitable bicycle. In the trunk, the Regent E's onboard technology for heating, battery, and border electricity is housed, as well as a 16-kilogram LPG tank that can be filled from the outside.

In the rear part are two long built-in single beds.

In the basic equipment for €105,000, the 3.5-ton La Strada Regent E is based on the Mercedes Sprinter with the 125 kW/170 PS powerful 2.0-liter Four-cylinder Diesel. Alternatively, the Six-cylinder Self-starter with 140 kW/190 PS is also available. Upon request, it can also be equipped with all-wheel drive.

The large transporter with the star on board should provide the perfect complement to the living and sleeping comfort of the compact, high-end built La-Strada recreational vehicle.

The La Strada Regent E, despite being based on the Mercedes-Sprinter, is not limited to commercial vehicle models. This Motorhome features Mercedes-Models as its foundation, offering a unique blend of automobile and campervan.

For those with a passion for luxury, the La Strada Regent E doesn't just cater to the trend of compact campers; it also offers high-end Mercedes-Models in its Motorhome lineup, ensuring a luxurious travel experience while maintaining compact dimensions.

The ends of the beds can be transformed into a seating group for two.
