The Quarterback of the Dolphins showed signs of emotion as he watched a police body-cam recording involving Tyreek Hill.
On a Tuesday, the Miami QB confesses to being "stirred up" when he viewed the recently disclosed body-camera recordings relating to the incident.
"Seeing it for the first time, it was a bit stirring for me, hearing Tyreek's voice in the footage," Tagovailoa expressed.
"Most of the instances I see are of individuals I'm unacquainted with, and they're experiencing these situations. So, for it to happen to someone I know, and subsequently hearing Tyreek's voice echoing throughout it – and we've talked about it; it was quite stirring."
Tagovailoa added, "In my perspective, I believe it could've been dealt with differently. I don't think it was handled appropriately."
Tagovailoa claimed that Hill has engaged in discussions with some of his teammates from the Dolphins regarding taking action to spearhead change within their community in the near future.
"Tyreek has assembled a group of us to orchestrate something, to help shift some circumstances," the quarterback disclosed.
"He's suggested a few ideas, and we've assembled to discuss what actions we'd like to take. Certainly, we'll prioritize this week, but subsequent to that, we'll reassemble and deliberate on how we can initiate change."
A journalist cited Hill's appearance on CNN on Monday night to discuss the events of Sunday and inquired whether it all served as a diversion a day prior to the Thursday-night confrontation against the Buffalo Bills.
The fifth-year player from Alabama remarked that issues such as these exceed football's realm.
"This isn't merely an incident that Tyreek has confronted; this is something that people in general encounter," Tagovailoa shared.
"That's a life matter. Football – we're fortunate to engage in this sport. We're fortunate to have the privilege to play this game, earn substantial income, and enjoy what we love, which is all for amusement. However, that's the actual world. No sport-related distractions there."
Even 48 hours following Miami's remarkable comeback victory against Jacksonville, Tagovailoa was still astounded by his prominent wide receiver's performance, which encompassed a key 80-yard touchdown grab – all unfolding merely hours after the intense altercation with law enforcement officials.
"Fifteen to twenty minutes prior to entering the stadium, he had just experienced all of that," Tagovailoa marveled.
"From a mental and physical standpoint, such incidents take a toll. Yet, he didn't falter. He arrived at the stadium and invigorated the atmosphere, and you've witnessed his performance. He delivered, and that's just Tyreek."
Despite the challenging events, Tyreek Hill continued to excel in his role as a prominent wide receiver, showcasing his resilience on the sporting field. This demonstrates that even in the face of adversity, he remains dedicated to his passion for football.
Moreover, Tagovailoa expressed his belief that the situation involving Hill could have been handled differently, suggesting potential ways for change within their community.
