The German football national team started the Home European Championship with a convincing win. The team coached by Julian Nagelsmann won the opening match on June 14 in Munich against Scotland 5:1 (3:0).
A total of 51 games are scheduled for the tournament: In the group stage, the 24 teams of the EM participants play against each other. The round of 16 begins on Saturday, June 29, and the final is scheduled for Sunday, July 14.
Besides the host country Germany, the national teams from Denmark, Spain, Georgia, Portugal, Slovenia, France, Romania, Netherlands, Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, Italy, England, and Slovakia qualified for the round of 16.
The round of 16 begins with the match Switzerland against Italy (Kick-off on Saturday, June 29, 6 p.m.).
