In the second round of the NBA Draft, his 19-year-old son Bronny James was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 55th spot and could potentially play alongside his 39-year-old father. German basketball player Ariel Hukporti was drafted last by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round at position 58, but a trade to the New York Knicks for Isaiah Hartenstein was quickly completed. The center, born in Stralsund, most recently played in Australia for Melbourne United and averaged 8.4 points in 28 games. In the first round, another German player, Tristan Da Silva, had already been drafted.
