These celebrities will be at Poldi's farewell match

In addition to Podolski, other prominent guests will be present who have played a significant role in the career of the 2014 World Cup winner, including coaches Joachim Löw (64) and Hansi Flick (59). The pitch will be graced by some former teammates from 1. FC Köln, as well as current players from the FC squad. Additionally, footballers from Podolski's current Polish club, Górnik Zabrze, where his contract expires in June 2025, will also be present.

Podolski emphasized the importance of hosting a farewell game in Cologne, where his football career began in 1991. "The region of Cologne, the club, the fans have given me so much and also pushed me. Therefore, I simply wanted to come back and play this game. Just to say thank you," the footballer is quoted in the ProSieben statement.

Tickets for the match available from August 7

Channel CEO Hannes Hiller also stated: "Podolski and ProSieben. It just fits. With the 'Red Nose Day' in Cologne in 2018, we jointly initiated a football pitch. Now, it's a special honor for ProSieben to show this last game of Lukas Podolski live from his Cologne home."

The general ticket sale for the farewell match starts next Wednesday (August 7) at 8 pm on www.fc-tickets.de. Further information about the supporting program will follow in the coming weeks.
