Prince William Attends as Wedding Guest - The Duke of Westminster's Nuptials

On June 7th, the highly anticipated wedding of the year in England took place. Hugh Grosvenor (33), the 7th Duke of Westminster, wed Olivia Henson (31) in the majestic Gothic Cathedral of Chester, located in North England. This elaborate society wedding was attended by the British heir apparent, Prince William (41). Princess Eugenie (34) was also present among the esteemed guests.

Defying the Elements

Despite the windy weather, Henson, now titled the Duchess of Westminster, bravely appeared before the public following the ceremony at Chester Cathedral. As described by "People", sheStayed determined to enjoy her special day with her new husband. As they exited the church, the couple shared a sweet kiss as they faced the world together.

The bride's Wedding attire for the momentous occasion was designed by the talented British designer, Emma Victoria Payne. A beautiful veil was included in the ensemble, adorned with her initials and the date of the ceremony. Henson complemented the stunning piece with the iconic Fabergé Myrtle Leaf Tiara, which has been in the possession of the Grosvenor family since 1906. In 2004, Hugh Grosvenor's sister Lady Tamara (44) had also worn this one-of-a-kind headpiece at her own wedding. The event was graced by the presence of the late Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) during that time.

William Steps in as Usher

Prince William, who had been in attendance at the central event commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy the day before as a substitute for his father, King Charles III (75), served as the usher at Grosvenor's wedding. His wife, Princess Kate (42), however, could not make it to the event. She continued with her cancer treatment and opted to avoid any public engagements for the time being.

Prince Harry (39) was also not present at the Chester Cathedral wedding. Even though he is a close friend of the groom, Harry decided not to attend, choosing to respect Hugh Grosvenor's wishes and avoiding causing a commotion.

The Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, is known for his vast wealth in England, with the Grosvenor family net worth being estimated at approximately 12.8 billion US dollars. Henson is rumoured to have met Grosvenor through mutual connections in 2021. In April 2023, the couple officially confirmed their engagement. According to "Town & Country", the Duchess-to-be is planning to relocate from London to the family estate of her husband in Cheshire in the near future.
