The DFB team is currently unable to don pink uniforms.

The pink uniform of the German soccer squad has sparked controversy among conservative individuals, but it has consequently become a hit. The team will have to wait a minimum of three games before wearing it in the home European Championship.

In a series of matches during the home European Championship, the German soccer squad is anticipated to partake in their white home uniforms. According to a document presented by ARD journalist Chaled Nahar, the combination with the opposing team has not permitted the pink away kit. The German team will start off with a game against Scotland on Friday (9 p.m./ZDF, Magenta, and in the live ticker at ntv.de), followed by additional group stage duels against Hungary (Wednesday, June 19, 9 p.m.) and eventually against Switzerland (June 23, 9 p.m.), which holds the home edge for the game.

Upon its debut, the pink kit sparked uproar: Such a hue is unmanned, it was said at the moment. Preparing for the furor beforehand, the German Football Association (DFB) and Adidas had planned a marketing campaign - and took matters into their own hands. In a video, it was questioned: "Is that a feminine kit?", followed by national player Jule Brand responding while wearing the away kit: "I don't know, it doesn't appear as though it has secured the eight EM titles yet." The eight EM titles of the women's team currently surpass the men's national team by three.

Not only does the pink kit garner attention due to the marketing campaign, but it is also widely seen at international competitions and public training sessions. In the past week, it was even momentarily out of stock. According to Adidas, the shirt entailed the best sales start for a German away shirt. The home shirt was also quite popular, they affirmed. For Adidas, it represents the final European Championship as a supplier for the DFB team.

Naturally, the pink kit's colors have not affected the team's performance. The squad led by national coach Julian Nagelsmann remains undefeated in four international matches. Even so, the away kit is marginally more successful: Toni Kroos and his comrades won both games in the pink jersey - both a 2:1 win against Greece and the Netherlands. In the white jersey, they claimed a 2:0 win against France and a 0:0 tie against Ukraine.

Shortly before the beginning of the home European Championship, Federal Economic Minister Robert Habeck commended the German team. The team managed by Nagelsmann acts as a model for the cherished Germany, explained the Green politician to "Kicker." "They play for Germany, and that's the approachable Germany in pink shirts. What more could we desire? So, it should continue." The players, the DFB, and the officials of German sports will "clearly express their stance." "That's worth all the recognition."

Habeck shared his concerns regarding the racism brought to light in a WDR survey from the previous week. "How must one feel who devotes everything to their country and is still informed that they do not belong because of their skin color? That's called racism, and many encounter it in their daily lives," he expressed in the interview. The findings were "bitterly tragic." In a survey conducted by WDR, which is deemed representative, an estimated fifth of the people said they would rather have more white players on the German national squad. The results prompted a lively debate.
