- That's what makes Jeffrey Wright's role special.

Fans of "The Last of Us" will have to wait until 2025 for the second season of the post-apocalyptic series. However, HBO Max has just released the first teaser from the new episodes via Instagram, setting an emotional tone for the next season.

First Images of Ellie's Tattoo

"Did you hurt her?" asks an older woman to Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal, 49), referring to Ellie (Bella Ramsey, 20), who is seen screaming in the short teaser. "No, I saved her," Joel responds, with a tear rolling down his cheek.

Otherwise, we get our first moving images of the tattoo on Ellie's scarred arm. Before, only unofficial set photos had shown it. The tattoo in the series differs from the one in the video game. However, the camera shot that opens the teaser is extremely faithful to the one that begins the 2020 game "The Last of Us Part II". Fans of the game are praising the faithfulness in their Instagram comments.

Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Wright as Prominent New Additions

The woman in the teaser is played by Catherine O'Hara (70), known for her role as the mother in the "Home Alone" films, among others. She will play a small role in the second season, the specifics of which have not been announced yet. The trailer suggests that her character is not from the video game.

Making his debut in the teaser is Jeffrey Wright (58), who received his first Oscar nomination this year for "The Batman". Wright plays a role that gamers will likely recognize: Isaac Dixon. Not only that, but Jeffrey Wright also lent his voice to the leader of a militia in the game. It doesn't get more faithful and fan-service than that.

The teaser from the upcoming season of "The Last of Us" featuring Catherine O'Hara has sparked curiosity among fans, as her character seems to be different from any in the video game. Despite her small role being unspecified, her presence in the post-apocalyptic series is highly anticipated.

As fans continue to dissect the first teaser, they're praising the scene between Joel Miller and Ellie for its emotional depth, mirroring the opening of "The Last of Us Part II" game exceptionally well.
