Disappointment in Sat.1 Kochshow - That's what Johann Lafer says
In just two months, the new cooking shows "Three Plates for Lafer" (4 PM) and "The Snack Menu" (3 PM) have been taken off the Sat.1 afternoon program. The broadcaster explained the change in a statement that they "couldn't connect with the mass taste" with these shows. Now, TV chef Johann Lafer (66) has reacted. "I can't say why it didn't work ratings-wise.", he told news agency spot on news in response to a query.
"We've done everything for success" - Johann Lafer
Lafer still "believes in a concept where cooking is the focus". For the success, he and his team "have done everything". We're already looking forward to new tasks that lie ahead", he added.
However, the two shows are not completely disappearing from the screen. "For the fans of the shows, we have good news: We're airing five new episodes each of 'Three Plates for Lafer' and 'The Snack Menu' every Saturday starting at 1 PM. The first broadcasts will still be available on Joyn", a spokesperson for spot on news further explained.
"On the Road" instead of "Three Plates for Lafer"
Sat.1 took on the two new cooking shows in mid-May for the afternoon program. Lafer and his colleague Alexander Kumptner's (41) send slot is now being taken elsewhere. Starting July 15, Sat.1 goes back to the tried-and-tested format "On the Road". The scripted reality series will then air Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM. In addition to the three existing episodes and two specials "On the Road - The Experts", there will be an additional double episode. At 5 PM, the "Life-Savers Close Up - When every second counts" starts.
In the upcoming Saturday programming, fans of "Three Plates for Lafer" and "The Snack Menu" will be happy to know that five new episodes of each show will still be airing on Sat.1. Despite the change in the afternoon program, the TV Chef Johann Lafer continues to believe in a cooking-focused concept, stating that he and his team have done everything for its success.
