- Teutenberg takes seventh place in the Omnium
Young cyclist Tim Torn Teutenberg secured seventh place in the Olympic track cycling Omnium. The 22-year-old accumulated 98 points across the four disciplines of Scratch, Tempo Race, Elimination Race, and Points Race in the Velodrome of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Gold went to French rider Benjamin Thomas with 164 points, ahead of World Champion Iuri Leitao (153) and Belgian Fabio van den Bossche (131).
Teutenberg is considered one of Germany's top cycling talents. The 22-year-old won the European Championship title in his favorite discipline, the Elimination Race, last year, a title he had also won in the junior category. The youngster has also proven himself on the road, winning the U23 class at the cobblestone classic Paris-Roubaix earlier this year.
Teutenberg continued his love for cycling by participating in road races, securing a win in the U23 class at Paris-Roubaix. Despite his success on the road, his passion remains strongly rooted in track cycling, as demonstrated by his seventh place finish in the Olympic Omnium.
