CSD - Terminator for Bill and Tom Kaulitz
During other people's summer vacations, Bill and Tom Kaulitz (34) have a calendar packed with appointments. With their band Tokio Hotel, they go from one performance to the next. Sleep is currently in short supply, as frontman Bill emphasized in an Instagram story on Monday morning. The musicians were practically non-stop in action over the weekend - from the Deichbrand Festival on Friday evening near Cuxhaven to the Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Cologne on Saturday and Sunday, and to a surprise performance at the Parookaville Festival on Monday night.
Bill is "busy"
"I think I went to bed around 4 am," Bill Kaulitz reported to fans on Monday in a short video. After the Parookaville performance, they returned to Cologne, where the next day a styling appointment awaited. "I'm shooting a TV show today," the 34-year-old announced in English, without going into further details. His schedule is currently "totally crazy." There's also a performance scheduled that evening in Freiburg. He's a "really busy bee."
The frontman of the four-piece band is particularly in the spotlight during their performances with his striking outfits. And thanks to the Netflix docu "Kaulitz & Kaulitz," the twins and their band are popular again like never before. The Magdeburg natives, who started with their hit "Durch den Monsun" in 2005, still enchant the masses - as they did on July 22 at Parookaville in North Rhine-Westphalia. They surprised everyone with their late-night performance on the Cupra-Bunker roof overlooking the Ferris wheel. The gig began at 0:11 am and lasted almost a half hour. "A short surprise was that - but a successful one," the "WAZ" judged.
Crowd rush in Cologne
Tokio Hotel caused quite a commotion with their concert at the Christopher Street Day on Saturday evening at the Heumarkt in Cologne. The crowd rush was so great that there were even concerns about a potential panic situation in social media. On Sunday, it was then time for the CSD parade. "Okay, two hours of sleep and now it's time for the bus. Happy Pride," Bill Kaulitz reported on Instagram about another intense night.
The band had already thrilled many thousands of visitors on Friday evening at the Fire Stage of the Deichbrand Festival at the North Sea. The frontman drew attention with his outfits - sometimes in black leather and a lot of skin, sometimes in a glittering overall. "Ready for the festival summer," Bill Kaulitz announced on his Instagram page.
The four Tokio Hotel men have many more concerts coming up. They are at the Zelt-Musik-Festival Freiburg on July 23, at the Seaside Festival in Switzerland on August 30, at the SummerDays Festival in Arbon, Switzerland, on August 31, at the Super Bloom Festival in Munich on September 7, and at Glücksgefühle in Hockenheim on September 13. In the next year, there's a European tour planned, with several dates in Germany. In March 2025, there are concerts in Ludwigsburg, Hannover, Cologne, Berlin, Leipzig, and Hamburg scheduled.
Possible second season of the docu?
There are already rumors about a possible second season of the Netflix docu "Kaulitz & Kaulitz." The twins have not yet commented on this. But one thing is certain: the band is currently in high demand.
And possibly there is also new content for streaming fans: According to the "Bild" Newspaper, the twins in Cologne were reportedly accompanied by a film team. Was a second season filmed? Officially confirmed is a continuation of the Kaulitz-Docu yet, but Bill Kaulitz did not hide in the first season that he can imagine more episodes.
