Tens of thousands celebrate festival summer.
More than 70 bands, a party vibe, and three massive stages - that's what awaits music enthusiasts at the twin festivals Rock am Ring and Rock am Park. Thousands of fans eagerly anticipate acts like Green Day, Die Ärzte, and Billy Talent, among others, in addition to a wallet-friendly weather forecast.
Summer's biggest music bash, Rock am Ring and Rock am Park, make a grand entrance with enthusiastic shouts from thousands of fans each year. Held at the Nürburgring in the Eifel mountains and near Nuremberg's 1. FC Nuremberg stadium, these festivals feature three stages where approximately 70 bands perform. In Nuremberg, Canadian rock group Billy Talent and American punk rockers Green Day were scheduled to entertain on the first day. Måneskin, the Italian glam rockers who won Eurovision Song Contest 2021, and Chemnitz's own Kraftklub, were named as the headlining acts for Saturday. The closing act for this extravaganza is none other than the renowned punk rock band Die Ärzte.
Fans in Nürburg can already witness Die Ärzte performing on the main stage on Friday evening, along with Billy Talent and Green Day on Saturday. And in preparation for Sunday, expect Kraftklub and Måneskin to take over the main stage. The grounds were already swarmed by crowds in the afternoon as German rock legend Guano Apes took the stage. While many fans had arrived on Thursday to set up their tents and enjoy a pre-festival tailgate party, there they were, cans of beer in hand, blasting music boxes, and rocking some impressive headgear.
The famous headgear might just come in handy over the weekend as the German Weather Service forecasts ideal festival weather with sunny spells, occasional clouds, and temperatures reaching up to 25 degrees in Nuremberg. Both festivals in the Eifel region and Nuremberg will be bathed in sunny weather, with the same temperature range. These two open-air events are among Germany's largest music festivals, hosting around 70,000 music lovers at Rock im Park in Nuremberg and Rock am Ring at the Nürburgring in the Eifel last year.
Behind closed doors, the organisers might be sighing with relief as the German Weather Service predicts perfect music festival weather at both locations. Showcasing the best of entertainment, these twins are certainly striking the right chords with thousands of fans across Germany, and are bound to draw in a large crowd.
