Fugees - Successful band is back
The Hip-Hop group Fugees (1988-1997, "Killing Me Softly") are reportedly working on a new album according to the "New York Post" citing an unnamed source. Members Wyclef Jean (54) hinted at the possibility of new music back in November 2023 to the news portal "TMZ": "Anything can happen." - It seems that it's finally happening. This will be the first album since the group's separation in 1997.
Fugees have been planning a reunion since 2021
But that's not all, a tour is also in the works. Once again. A first reunion tour was planned in 2021 for the anniversary of the 1996 album "The Score" during a tour, but the concert series had to be cancelled due to the Corona pandemic.
Fugees tour is set to start in August
Now the third attempt: The Fugees tour is scheduled to still take place this year. The first concert of Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel (51) will take place in Florida in August. In October, the trio will even travel to Europe.
Wyclef Jean, one of the Fugees' renowned members, mentioned the possibility of new music in an interview with "TMZ" back in 2023. According to a recent report in the "New York Post", the Hip-Hop group Fugees, known for their successful band with hits like "Killing Me Softly" (1988-1997), is indeed working on a new album after a quarter of a century since their separation. Despite initial plans for a reunion tour in 2021 to celebrate the anniversary of their album "The Score", it was unfortunately cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, Pras Michel, another Fugees member, and the group are now set to embark on a new tour this year, starting with a concert in Florida in August, followed by performances in Europe in October.
