"The Tribute - The show of the music legends" - Start date of the new Sat.1 show has been set
The airdate for the new Sat.1 show "The Tribute - The Show of Music Legends" with host Matthias Opdenhoevel (53) is set. Starting from August 16, singer Yvonne Catterfeld (44), Eurovision Song Contest icon Conchita Wurst (35), and Panikorchester legend Bertram Engel (66) will be searching for the best cover band in Germany.
Three celebrity jurors, five episodes, every Friday
Sat.1 will air the five episodes every Friday at 8:15 pm. "The Tribute" is already available on Joyn from August 9. The three-member jury will evaluate the vocals, sound, and performance of twelve music groups. For Catterfeld, "The Tribute" is a "new, fresh, energetic music show that brings our old times back to life." Conchita Wurst also announced: "Get ready for hits, hits, and hits that bring together people from all generations."
These are the twelve cover bands
Some of the cover bands include those of the Beatles, Fantastischen Vier, Amy Winehouse, Roxette, Robbie Williams, Peter Maffay, Sting, Hot Chocolate, Rod Stewart, Udo Lindenberg, Maroon 5, and Bon Jovi. The winning band will receive a special prize: a concert for up to 5,000 spectators at the RuhrCongress in Bochum.
Matthias Opdenhoevel, who has already tasted the air of music shows like "The Masked Singer" and "Hast Du Toene?", will host the show. The show originated in the Netherlands and has been annually aired by SBS6 since 2022. Cheerio Entertainment, a production company of Seven.One Studios, now produces the show for the broadcaster Sat.1.
