The market for player transfers - St. Pauli and Brighton have different opinions on Hürzeler.
A news article states that FC St. Pauli and Brighton & Hove Albion are yet to reach an agreement for the promotion trainer Fabian Hürzeler. On Tuesday, the two teams had a meeting, but it apparently didn't lead to any substantial progress. The "Hamburger Morgenpost" mentioned this, while the "Hamburger Abendblatt" reported that the clubs had agreed on a sum worth millions in the high seven-digits.
The transfer is likely to happen before long. Since Hürzeler didn't have an exit clause added to his contract extension in March with Hamburg, St. Pauli is anticipating a substantial financial gain from selling him. Rumours suggest that Brighton might be paying around 7.5 million euros, including bonuses if he meets certain conditions like participating in European cup competitions. As per Sky, Hürzeler's contract is valid until 2027.
As a rookie coach, Hürzeler had taken over St. Pauli's team when they were struggling to stay away from relegation from the second division back in December 2022. Under his guidance, the team managed to make it to the Bundesliga last season.
