Showdown of Jungle Legends - Soon it starts: RTL announces the beginning of Jubilee-Jungle Camp
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!", RTL is sending 13 campers from previous seasons back to the jungle, this time in South Africa. "Ich bin ein Star - Showdown der Dschungel-Legenden" starts on Friday, August 16, at 8:15 pm on RTL. New episodes, which have already been filmed, will be available for streaming one day earlier on RTL+ starting August 15.
In addition to this, there are some new rules for the campers in the anniversary season, according to an RTL press release.
These contestants are at the anniversary jungle camp
Thirteen contestants are vying to become legends among legends and take home the prize money of 100,000 Euro. DJane Giulia Siegel and former "GNTM" contestant Sarah Knappik left in 2009 and 2011 respectively, and are now hoping for a second chance. Ex-"Bachelor" girl Georgina Fleur, actor Winfried Glatzeder, and moderator Mola Adebisi all tried in 2014.
From season 10 in 2016, ex-"BTN" star David Ortega and ex-footballer Thorsten Legat are present, as well as reality queen Kader Loth and former "Big Brother" contestant Hanka Rackwitz. Dating show veteran Elena Miras and the "Goodbye Deutschland!" fame Daniela Büchner joined in 2020. Completing the cast are ex-"GZSZ" actor Eric Stehfest from season 2022 and TV Casanova Gigi Birofio from the previous year.
Familiar faces as moderators
Despite all the new developments in the first summer "Dschungelcamp" of all time - the moderators remain the same. Sonja Zietlow has been hosting the show since 20 years and will lead the special edition as well. Since 2023, Jan Köppen has been her partner in crime and will also be there for her during the legend season. Dr. Bob will also be present.

As always, viewers can look forward to Angela Finger-Erben and Olivia Jones after the jungle shows. In the live talk show "Ich bin ein Star - Die legendäre Stunde danach", the two will speak with prominent fans and former jungle inhabitants about the events in the South African bush. But not only that, the current legend campers will also share their thoughts. "Only in 'Die legendäre Stunde danach' will there be first reactions from the legends about the events in South Africa", the press release states.
