Talking about Martin Freeman... - "Sherlock" actor lands new Netflix job
British actor Martin Freeman (52) is known for his involvement in the series and films "Sherlock" and "Hobbit". Now, he's set to star in a new Netflix production - a series adaptation of Agatha Christie's "The Seven Dials Mystery".
The cast includes Mia McKenna-Bruce (26), known for her role in "How to Have Sex," and Helena Bonham Carter (58) from "Harry Potter" and "The Crown." McKenna-Bruce will play the lead role in the series.
Netflix announced the production in early April, but details about the cast were kept under wraps until now. Filming is set to begin in the summer and will be directed by Chris Sweeney. The show is the brainchild of "Broadchurch" creator Chris Chibnall, who will pen the script, while "The Crown" producers Suzanne Mackie and Chris Sussman will oversee.
"The Seven Dials Mystery" is set in 1925 and follows a darkly humorous and swift-paced drama. It centers on a lethal prank at a countryside party that leads to the entrance of the curious young detective, Lady Eileen "Bundle" Brent (McKenna-Bruce). As she delves into the plot, a significant secret in a country house threatens to change her life forever. Bonham Carter will play Lady Caterham and Freeman as Superintendent Battle.
The release date for the series on Netflix is not yet confirmed.
