Princess Kate - She visits the Wimbledon men's finale
Princess Kate (42) will attend the men's final at Wimbledon on Sunday (14. July). This was announced by Kensington Palace on Saturday, as reported by "Mail Online". It's her second public appearance since an operation six months ago, during which a cancer diagnosis was made.
Kate, who is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy, is an avid tennis fan and patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club Wimbledon, which organizes the annual tennis championships in Wimbledon. It's yet unknown whether she will present the trophies as usual.
According to the "Telegraph", another member of the royal family is preparing to present the awards at the finals. It's suggested that Birgitte, the Duchess of Gloucester (78), could present the awards at Wimbledon over the weekend if Princess Kate is not available.
First public appearance after Trooping the Colour
The wife of the heir to the throne, Princess Kate (42), made her first public appearance in June at Trooping the Colour (15. June), the annual military parade marking the official birthday of King Charles III. (75). She made a statement then, expressing her hope to attend more events during the summer.
"I'm making good progress, but as everyone knows, anyone going through chemotherapy has good and bad days," Kate wrote on the platform X on 14. June in a personal message. "My treatment is not yet completed and will still last several months," the Princess added.
Her office, Kensington Palace, declined to provide further details about the type of cancer or her health condition. However, it was confirmed that the treatment began in February.
Who will accompany Kate?
It's unclear who Princess Kate will be sitting next to in the Royal Box at Wimbledon, unless she only presents the prizes. It's unlikely to be her husband, Prince William, as he has announced his visit to the final football match of the European Championship in Berlin on Sunday. The Kensington Palace also confirmed this to the "BBC". The football match between England and Spain starts, however, only at 9 pm...
