Streaming - Sex symbol Patrick Dempsey joins "Dexter" spin-off
Patrick Dempsey, known for his role in the US hospital series "Grey's Anatomy," will appear in a new installment of the crime series "Dexter." Paramount+ announced this. According to the US magazine "People," Dempsey was named "Sexiest Man Alive" by the magazine last year. He will reportedly play the role of Aaron Spencer in the spin-off "Dexter: Original Sin." Dempsey gained popularity with his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd, alias McDreamy, in the ABC series "Grey's Anatomy."
Patrick Gibson ("Shadow and Bone") plays the main role of Dexter Morgan in the new ten-part thriller series. Golden Globe winner Christian Slater ("Mr. Robot") portrays Harry Morgan, Dexter's adoptive father and detective for the Miami Metro Homicide Squad. Molly Brown ("Senior Year") plays Dexter's younger sister Debra Morgan. James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, and Reno Wilson will also be featured in the prequel.
"Dexter: Original Sin" takes place in 1991 in Miami – 15 years before the series "Dexter," which Showtime turned into a global hit in the noughties with Michael C. Hall portraying the main character. In this prequel, Dexter learns to control his bloodthirsty urges instead of ignoring them. "Since he can no longer ignore his bloodthirsty instincts," Paramount+ summarizes, "Dexter must learn to control them. Under the watchful eye of his father Harry, he adheres to a code that helps him find and kill people without attracting the attention of law enforcement. This is a unique challenge for young Dexter, as he begins a forensic internship at the Miami Metro Police Department."
