Sergio Ramos scores 10,000th Champions League goal
Veteran Sergio Ramos has scored the 10,000th goal in the Champions League. The 37-year-old professional footballer scored for Sevilla FC to give them a 1-0 lead against PSV Eindhoven.
According to the data service provider Opta, the 29th-minute goal came 31 years and four days after Bruges' Daniel Amokachi scored the first goal in the history of the Champions League in 1992. Goals scored in qualifying before the group stage do not count in this statistic.
Ramos has won the Champions League four times with Real Madrid. With over 130 appearances, he is one of the players with the most matches in the top flight. The record holder here is Ramos' former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo (183).
Sevilla FC's victory against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League was propelled by Sergio Ramos' 10,000th goal, making him the first player to achieve such a milestone in this esteemed competition. Having joined Sevilla after a successful stint with Real Madrid, Ramos continues to showcase his talent, further solidifying his status as a Champions League legend.
