National squad undergoes training - Scotland's Preparations: Nagelsmann's Strategy for Kick-Off at the European Championship

As the players head back to their team quarters in Herzogenaurach, Toni Kroos and his 25 EURO 2024 teammates commence the final preparations for their opening match against Scotland later today.

German national coach Julian Nagelsmann has put together a thorough weekly plan for the team, with the home tournament set to kick off in Munich Arena at 9:00 pm (ZDF/Magenta TV) on Friday night. There are several key dates that have already been marked on the calendar:

11:30 am today:Players must all be back at the team base by now. They were given an extended free weekend by Nagelsmann, allowing many of them to visit their families or take a trip abroad. The DFB players are staying in Adidas facilities, with three and four-bedroom apartments allocated for each group based on playing positions.

1:00 pm today:Niclas Füllkrug, the Dortmund striker, will be appearing at today's press conference. He joined the team after losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid. In Nagelsmann's role concept, Füllkrug serves as the backup for Kai Havertz. Under Nagelsmann's management, Füllkrug has scored four goals, making him the second-leading scorer after Arsenal's striker with three.

4:00 pm today:4,000 fans will be allowed to watch the team train publicly for the final time before the tournament. This follows the same pattern as their training session in Jena, where 15,000 spectators attended, creating a grand atmosphere. Tickets for this session were given out for free and were quickly snapped up.

Tuesday and Wednesday:Training continues with opponent analyses, tactical practice, and physiotherapist sessions. There are two scheduled sessions each day, with one player attending the press podium around 1:00 pm.

11:00 am Thursday:The team's final training session will take place at the home base before they travel to Munich. Bayern players and Nagelsmann himself can't stay home, as UEFA regulations require all teams to stay at the venue the day before the match.

6:45 pm Thursday:Nagelsmann and a player are set to attend a press conference in the Allianz Arena, officially known as the Munich Football Arena for EURO 2024.

Friday, match day:Match analysis, stretching, and possibly a stroll. Nagelsmann will meticulously plan out the day. The team will board the bus in the early evening, marking the end of their preparations. Their opponent is Scotland.
