Scotland falters, England brings shame.

England's football team experiences a sudden unexpected defeat right before the European Championship. Despite featuring numerous regular players, they suffer a loss against Iceland. Scotland, their German group opponent, also fails to boost their confidence.

Harry Kane, the team captain, fails to inspire England in a disheartening practice match leading up to the European Championship. The Three Lions, including the Bayern Munich striker, fell short 0:1 (0:1) against Iceland at Wembley Stadium. Jon Dogur Thorsteinsson (12.) put the visitors in the lead early. Their goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, didn't impress and neither did his teammates. England had opportunities to tie the game up, but Kane missed a volley following a pass from Cole Palmer (28.). After the halftime break, Palmer didn't score by himself in front of the goal (54.).

Gareth Southgate managed the team with Kane and the rest starting from the beginning, with eight switches to the lineup. Jude Bellingham from Real Madrid's Champions League champions wasn't present. England's European Championship begins on June 16th against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen. Other teammates in Group C are Denmark and Slovenia.

Scotland has displayed vulnerabilities a week before facing Germany in the opening match. In Glasgow, they drew 2:2 (0:0) against Finland in a warm-up encounter. After an own goal by Arttu Hoskonen (54) and a header by Lawrence Shankland (58), it appeared Scotland were headed for a loss. However, Benjamin Källman (72) and Oliver Antman (85, penalty) scored the equalizer.

In contrast to the challenging 2:0 against Gibraltar, Scotland's lone win after seven unsuccessful outings, Clarke made adjustments to five positions. Scotland held possession often but hardly posed a real threat. So Finland had to create their own lead: Andy Robertson's pass resulted in Hoskonen's awkward own goal for his goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo. However, the lead proved insufficient as the defense struggled in the final stages.

Scotland faces Germany first in Group A on June 14th in Munich. Other fixtures are against Switzerland on June 19th in Cologne and Hungary on June 23rd in Stuttgart. The European Championship warm-up match takes place on Friday at 8:45 p.m. in Glasgow against Finland.

Poland's football team demonstrates their goal scoring prowess. In Warsaw, Probierz's squad defeated Ukraine 3:1 (3:1). Sebastian Walukiewicz (11), Piotr Zielinski (16), and Taras Romanczuk (30) put Poland in control. Artem Dowbyk (41) reduced Ukraine's deficit, who had earlier held Germany to a 0:0 draw.

Lewandowski, with a spot on the bench, was introduced in the 61st minute. Poland's next warm-up match on Monday is against Turkey (8:45 p.m.). In a demanding Group D, Probierz's team takes on the Netherlands, Austria, and France.
