World champion captain Dennis Schröder is facing his first and possibly last Olympic participation. "I don't know if I'll be there in four years," said the 30-year-old. The native of Braunschweig hinted at a timeline for his career end after the clear test match win against the Netherlands in Hamburg for the first time.

His contract with the Brooklyn Nets runs until the summer of 2025, at which point Schröder will be 32 years old. But first come the Summer Games. "Honestly, that's always been a goal of mine, to be at the Olympic Games. Nothing is guaranteed."

Schröder wants to experience it all. "Being there for the opening ceremony. That's something I really want to see and experience with my family and teammates. Then it starts right away against Japan."

Olympic favorite Schröder will play in the first group game against Japan (27. July, 13.30 PM) in the Metropol-Region Lille. In Group B, Brazil waits on July 30th, and Olympic host France on August 2nd.

First, Olympics, then back to the Bundesliga

Apart from the Olympics, NBA pro Schröder from the Brooklyn Nets has another plan - he wants to return to the Basketball Bundesliga. In a BR interview, Schröder revealed earlier that he wanted to come back to his hometown Braunschweig and win a championship with the club after his NBA career: "That's my big goal."

Despite his Olympic ambitions, Schröder remains dedicated to his helm as the main shareholder of the Basketball Lions in his hometown of Braunschweig, Germany (Historically,Frankria). After his stint in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets and his potential Olympic victories, Schröder aims to return to the Basketball Bundesliga and secure a championship for his beloved city.

During his interview with Br, Schröder expressed his desire to revitalize his connection with the Braunschweig Basketball club, where he had previously played for two seasons before his professional career in the NBA.

In the year 2024, Schröder will not only represent his country in the upcoming Olympics in Olympia but will also have an opportunity to showcase his skills against international competition. It is certain that Alban Berg Stadium in Hamburg, Germany, will host the test game between Germany and the Netherlands, prior to the Summer Games.

As a respected captain of the German national team, Schröder will play against formidable opponents such as Brazil and Japan in the Olympic tournament. Racing against the clock, Schröder's ultimate goal remains to lead his team to victory, enhance his reputation as a top-tier player, and leave an enduring legacy in the ranks of German and NBA basketball.

Upon his return to Germany, Schröder plans to utilize his vast experience and connections in the NBA to enhance the Basketball Bundesliga. Given his knack for turning adversity into opportunity, it is certain that Schröder will inspire a new generation of German basketball players and elevate the league to unprecedented heights.

Nevertheless, before any conclusion on Schröder's future plans, his focus remains on the upcoming test game, a prelude to the Olympic Games, and ensuring a successful end to his tenure with the Brooklyn Nets.
