In a recent viral clip on social media, several renowned German celebrities, including Barbara Schöneberger (50), Florian David Fitz (49), and Stefanie Giesinger (27), can be seen doing an ordinary activity - brushing their teeth. Although it might seem typical, there's a significant message hidden behind it.

A Call for Voting: "Brush Your Teeth - For Democracy"

These celebrities are appealing to people to head to the polls for the upcoming European election scheduled for the 9th of June. The central idea behind this video is "Voting is like brushing your teeth - if you don't do it, it'll turn brown."

Apart from Schöneberger, Fitz, and Giesinger, other celebrities like Marie Nasemann (35), Caro Cult (29), Jannik Schümann (31), Jannis Niewoehner (32), Tim Oliver Schultz (35), and Hannes Jaenicke (64) appear in the video brushing their teeth in support of democracy and against right-wing extremism. While they're doing this, a song composed for the campaign by Bodo Wartke (47) and Marti Fischer (33) plays in the background.

The song emphasizes the importance of voting, lyrically saying, "[...] this election is really important, to say the least. And it can't happen without you. Don't give up on your potential. Because every vote can make a difference."

Who Can Cast Their Vote?

The voting process will take place from the 6th to the 9th of June in the 27 EU member countries. The Netherlands starts voting first, followed by most other countries, including Germany, on the 9th of June.

On the election day, individuals aged 16 or above, possessing German or another EU citizenship, living in Germany, and have been residing in the EU for at least three months can exercise their right to vote. Additionally, those who cannot make it to the polling station can opt for a postal vote by applying before the 7th of June at 6 pm.
