Schalke's manager Geraerts, following Debakel, declares: "I won't back down."

Schalke's coach, Karel Geraerts, remains determined following their insane and incredibly frustrating 3-5 loss against SV Darmstadt 98. "I'm a sportsman. I don't back down," said the 42-year-old, who's under mounting scrutiny. "I press on. That's my approach for tomorrow, next week, even throughout my entire football career."

Prior to the 3-0 lead slip-up, there were whispers about Geraerts' future at the second-division football club. When asked if influential figures like sporting director Ben Manga or the board of directors still stood by him, Geraerts retorted, "That's a topic for the sporting director, the board of directors, or others." The call on whether he'll be on the sidelines for the following game isn't his to make. Schalke has only managed to accrue four points from their initial six games in the 2. Bundesliga.

Schalke: Backup power swings into action

Due to a series of power outages at Schalke's stadium, viewers tuning into Sky's broadcast of the 2. Bundesliga clash between FC Schalke 04 and SV Darmstadt 98 (3-5) missed two crucial goals. They missed Schalke's 3-0 interim advantage with Ron Schallenberg's strike in the first half (39th minute), and later, Darmstadt's equalizer by Isac Lidberg (56th).

According to S04, "Backup power activated each time, but certain computer systems needed to be restarted." This affected the TV broadcast, among other things. The root cause of the power outages was initially undecipherable.

"At Schalke, there was a power outage, even affecting the floodlights. Goal number three was scored when the lights came back up, but the cameras and the associated broadcast weren't functioning yet." Sky issued an apology on the X platform, acknowledging the outage and expressing gratitude to viewers for their understanding.

Despite the power outage affecting their broadcast during the 2-1 comeback by SV Darmstadt 98 against Schalke in the second football league, Sky expressed regret and appreciated the patience of viewers. Despite the setbacks, Schalke's coach Karel Geraerts remains undeterred, focusing on his approach for future games, as there were earlier whispers about his future at the club due to their poor performance in the league.
