SC Paderborn: Contract with Kruse likely to be terminated
Second-division soccer club SC Paderborn has reacted to media reports that former national team player Max Kruse is about to terminate his contract. This could actually happen soon.
"In agreement with the club, Max Kruse is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Berlin," said Paderborn's sporting director Benjamin Weber on request. "Irrespective of this, the sporting situation has not developed in the desired form for either side. In view of this, we are working together to find a solution as to how to move forward."
On Tuesday evening, the portal "Reviersport" reported that the contract between SCP and Kruse would be terminated shortly. The 35-year-old is said to have already said goodbye to his teammates via WhatsApp.
Kruse made a surprise move to Paderborn last summer after being released by VfL Wolfsburg a year ago. The 14-time German international has only played five games for the East Westphalians so far. He has repeatedly had problems due to injury.
Max Kruse's contract situation with Bundesliga 2 club SC Paderborn remains uncertain, with reports suggesting a termination is imminent. Despite currently undergoing rehabilitation in Berlin, Kruse's time with SC Paderborn seems to be drawing to a close, as the sporting situation has not been favorable for either party.
