Actor Johnny Depp, age 60, has landed yet another role after winning his defamation case against Amber Heard, his former spouse, 38. Depp will portray none other than Satan in Terry Gilliam's upcoming project, "The Carnival at the End of Days."

Known for his unique style, Gilliam, 83, (director of "12 Monkeys" and "Brazil") disclosed the news to French magazine "Premiere." Depp and Gilliam have collaborated twice before, in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" from 1998 and "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" in 2009.

The film follows God's plan to annihilate mankind. The only one who could stop him is the Devil, who needs people in hell. To fill this need, Satan introduces two young individuals to God as the new Adam and Eve. Back in December 2023, Gilliam envisioned Johnny Depp as the perfect choice to play Satan, which is now officially confirmed.

Impressive Cast for "The Carnival at the End of Days"

This enticing comedy brings together an impressive lineup of celebrated actors. Jeff Bridges, 74 ("The Big Lebowski"), will voice God while presenting him as a part of nature.

Also starring are Adam Driver, 40, and Jason Momoa, 44 - both highly sought-after Hollywood talents. Although their roles remain a mystery, there is a high probability that they will have significant roles.

The selection for the new Eve is still up in the air, with the actress yet to be announced.

For Johnny Depp, this movie marks a momentous return to Hollywood after a hiatus that commenced with his French production, "Jeanne du Barry" (2023). With his reputation taking a hit during the trial, this film represents a significant comeback.
