Sadly, Bang Boom has passed away.
The highly anticipated second installment of "The Betrayal" premieres with 16 renowned celebrities checking into the lavish Château de Béguin in France. An air of suspicion hangs heavy over the French castle from the get-go. One contestant is obliged to depart on the second morning itself.
Following the remarkable triumph of the inaugural season of "The Betrayal" the previous year, Sonja Zietlow invites 16 suspected celebrity models to France to contend for 50,000 euros and expose the manipulative facets of their competitors. Famous figures such as actor Oliver Korittke, reality TV stars Jessica Haller and Gerda Lewis, drama maestro Bruce Darnell, Viva icon Gülcan Kamps, and Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht, scion of the Ochsenknecht dynasty, are among the participants. The latter was eagerly anticipating the commencement of the new season: "I found the first season so intriguing, I expressly requested to participate in the second round," he stated.
Sonja Zietlow doesn't keep the celebrities waiting. Upon their arrival in the French countryside, they are immediately subjected to the first trust test. In the "Bloodlust" game, it's all about determining who trusts whom the least. Jan Sosniok and Oliver Korittke receive the most votes. The two actors remain composed. Sonja Zietlow then asks everyone to gather at the round table for role assignment.
The swirling dancer Oana Nechiti, "Bachelorette" participant Gerda Lewis, and fashion designer Marina Hoermanseder are secretly assigned as traitors. The rest pledge allegiance and promptly begin distrusting one another. A lively discussion and rumor mill kicks off, leaving everyone guessing who to trust.
"Dana is hard to read because she always smiles"
The audience at home is kept just as engaged as the protagonists in the imposing Château de Béguin. Bruce Darnell struts around with confidence, much like during his time on "Germany's next Topmodel." Oliver Korittke has his sights on Dana Schweiger ("Dana is hard to read because she always smiles"). Influencer Jessica Haller suspects everyone. This doesn't make Bruce Darnell very popular: "Has anyone talked to Bruce for more than three minutes?" she questions the group. The well-dressed man is not amused and sends stern glances in their direction.
A collaborative mission named "Pumpkin Chaos" briefly rejuvenates their bonds. 8,000 euros are earned, and the group is delightful to observe that they function as a team efficiently. But as soon as they return to the castle, the guessing game resumes. Who is loyal? Who are the traitors? And how many traitors are there? Apart from Oana, Gerda, and Marina, everyone is in the dark. In the dead of night, the first loyal member is scheduled to be "eliminated." The following day, the first dismissal and the addition of another traitor are on the program.
Oliver Korittke doesn't make it through the first night
Actor Oliver Korittke becomes the first victim of the Konklave tribunal. The nostalgic Berlin cinema cult idol falls by the wayside during the game of deception. The backstabbing contest is now in full swing. The previously jovial and mutually supportive celebrities are left grappling with their emotions. A new mission is supposed to reinforce their camaraderie. However, an innocent moment fuels further skepticism. Suddenly, Gerda Lewis and TikTok creator Helge Mark come under scrutiny.
During the following night, Jessica Haller joins the ranks of the traitors as the fourth. Twelve hours later, the group is already seated at the round table, celebrating the first dismissal. After an intense discussion of who's accusing whom, Gerda Lewis faces the verdict. The blonde with a penchant for red roses is expelled as the first traitor. Cheers echo throughout the room. The group embraces each other tightly. A victory for the loyalists. But beware, caution is advised. That night, Jessica meets her conspirator colleagues Oana and Marina for the first time. Who will be the next to fall prey? Oana rubs her hands together in delight. In this new trio dynamic, the professional dancer feels right at home: "Now I finally have a good feeling!" she grins into the camera at the end.
Despite his initial enthusiasm, Oliver Korittke's stay at the Château de Béguin is cut short. ["I'm not going to lie,"] he confessed during a private moment, "I'm finding it harder than I thought to navigate the politics of this game."
With Oliver's departure, tensions rise amongst the remaining celebrities. The game of deception is at its peak, and no one is immune to the backstabbing contest.
