- Rumors Surrounding Musicians and Musical Groups
The Hype Surrounding Oasis:_ The notorious siblings, Noel (57) and Liam Gallagher (51), leaders of the iconic band Oasis, have announced a reunion tour slated for 2025. So far, 14 shows have been confirmed, with potentially more to follow. Insiders suggest that their long-time guitarist, Gem Archer (57), will be joining them on this musical journey, as reported by the UK newspaper "Mirror". Previous speculations hinted at the involvement of Paul Benjamin Arthurs, alias Bonehead (59), the original guitarist and Oasis co-founder who was replaced by Archer.
"Gem's a Perfect Fit"
While official confirmations are pending, Gem and Bonehead appear to be strong contenders. According to an insider, the key is finding individuals who gel well with the Gallagher brothers and have a solid history with the band. Gem Archer, who joined Oasis in 1999 and remained until the band's split in 2009 due to the Gallagher brothers' turmoil, fits the bill perfectly. This source claims, "It'd be a massive shock if he's not there for the UK tour. He knows the tunes, he knows the band like the back of his hand, and he's worked with the Gallaghers before, so he's well-aware of what awaits him."
Archer kicked off his musical journey in the early '80s with bands such as The Edge and The Contenders. Following Oasis's demise, he teamed up with Liam Gallagher, Chris Sharrock (60), and Andy Bell (60) in their previous band, Beady Eye. He's also lent his talents to Noel Gallagher's band, High Flying Birds.
Possible Opening Act: Kasabian?
Beyond the lineup of the Gallagher brothers' performance, the potential opening act has sparked plenty of interest. Bookmakers have their money on British rock band Kasabian, who are rumored to be the tour's supporting act. A company spokesperson said to "The Sun", "Kasabian have always had a close relationship with Oasis, and with odds at 7/4, we think it's likely that the Leicester band will appear as support at some point during the tour."
Kasabian, composed of Sergio Pizzorno (43), Chris Edwards (43), Ian Matthews (53), and Tim Carter, formed in Leicester in 1997. Their most popular tracks include "Fire" and "Club Foot". Kasabian's former guitarist, Jay Mehler (52), joined Liam Gallagher's band, Beady Eye, in 2013.
On August 27, Noel and Liam Gallagher revealed their reunion on the X (formerly Twitter) platform, announcing that they will be touring again as Oasis in 2025. The band was established in 1991 as a rock ensemble featuring the Gallagher brothers, Bonehead, bassist Paul McGuigan (53), and drummer Tony McCarroll (53). McCarroll departed four years later after receiving criticism from Noel Gallagher for his drumming, leading to a more secluded lifestyle, effectively ruling out his participation in the reunion tour.
♪ Gem Archer's musical history with Oasis and his familiarity with the Gallagher brothers make his inclusion in the reunion tour highly anticipated. ♪ The potential collaboration between Oasis and Kasabian as tour partners could create an electrifying energy, given their shared history and Kasabian's former guitarist's connection to Liam Gallagher's previous band.
