Princess Anne - Royal has left the hospital
Princess Anne (73) has been discharged from the hospital where she had been treated for a light head injury and whiplash in the past few days. This was reported by the BBC. Anne reportedly left Southmead Hospital in Bristol early on Friday morning without being seen. She is said to have returned to her estate, Gatcombe Park, in Minchinhampton.
The sister of King Charles (75) was taken to the hospital on Sunday after sustaining a light injury on her estate in Gloucestershire. It is believed that the 73-year-old was injured by a horse. A return to her royal duties is not expected to happen soon, however. According to the BBC, it is not expected that she will return to her public duties until the doctors give the all-clear. It is not known when that will be.
Princess Anne's husband, Sir Tim Laurence (69), thanked the hospital staff for their kindness during the stay of the 73-year-old. "I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise, and kindness during my wife's short stay," he reportedly said.
Princess Anne is the most diligent member of the Royals
The temporary absence of Princess Anne is another setback for the Royals. She has been one of the most active members of the British royal family for years. With King Charles and his daughter-in-law Princess Kate (42) having fallen ill from cancer in the past few months, she once again proved herself an important pillar of the monarchy. Princess Anne reportedly attended almost a third of all scheduled royal engagements - and increased her already heavy workload even further. According to media reports, she had taken on 172 engagements in the name of the Crown by the end of April, four more than in the first four months of 2023.
