Rodger successfully halts the frightening sequel in a triumphant comeback
A while back, Aaron Rodgers suffered a devastating Achilles tear during his inaugural home game with the New York Jets, thus bringing an untimely end to his season. Now, he's back at the MetLife Stadium, where the injury occurred, and manages to conquer an age-old adversary.
The Jets pulled off an impressive 24-3 (14-3) victory against the New England Patriots in their recent NFL game at home. This win marked an end to the eight-match losing streak against the Patriots at the MetLife Stadium for the Jets and represented their first home triumph against their rival since 2015.
Rodgers' return to the MetLife Stadium was fruitful. Last year, he encountered an Achilles tendon injury during his single home appearance with the Jets, which led to his absence for the remainder of the season. At 40, being the oldest player in the league, Rodgers demonstrated no hint of injury this time around. The quarterback expressed his sentiments, stating, "It was quite a remarkable night. The crowd's cheers meant a lot to me. I felt in great shape tonight." He completed 27 out of 35 passes during the game.
Rodgers tossed two touchdowns against the Patriots: one in the initial quarter to Allen Lazard and another in the third quarter to Garrett Wilson, contributing to a 21-3 lead for the hosts. Rodgers recorded an impressive 281 yards through passing in all, and the Jets also scored a touchdown in the second quarter via Breece Hall.
On the other side of the field, the Patriots' quarterback Jacoby Brissett had a difficult night. He had to face five takedowns from the Jets' powerful defense and managed to progress by just 98 yards. Late in the fourth quarter, Brissett was substituted by newcomer Drake Maye. The Patriots tasted their second loss of the season, while the Jets celebrated their second victory in their third match.
Rodgers' triumphant return to the MetLife Stadium was partly fueled by his passion for American football. Despite the injury he sustained during an American football game with the Jets, he showcased his prowess once again on the same turf.
