"Dragon's Dominion" - Renewed for a third season: "Game of Thrones" spin-off
Fans of the intricate fantasy series "House of the Dragon" anxiously look forward to Season 2, scheduled to air in Germany on June 16-17, Sky/Wow. Just prior to this date, the US producer HBO generated buzz on its official Instagram account with a brief announcement: "The Battle of the Dragons persists. "House of the Dragon" has been renewed for a third season."
The decision-makers at HBO clearly express their faith in the ongoing success of the "Game of Thrones" spin-off, which premiered its first season in August 2022 and captivated both critics and fans of the initial series.
The preliminary recognition for the "dragon-sized work"
Per entertainment industry site "Variety," Francesca Orsi, HBO's executive in charge of drama series, remarked: "We are baffled by the colossal effort put forth by the entire team behind the production of this epic second season. Its breadth and grandeur can only be overshadowed by their passion. We can't wait to continue the saga of House Targaryen and observe this crew outshine themselves once more in the third season."
Compared to the premier season's ten episodes, the second season of "House of the Dragon" will have only eight installments. The series will conclude with a brutal civil war igniting between the supporters of the Targaryen household, with Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell, 27) becoming the prime suspect in the death of one of Rhaenyra Targaryen's (Emma D'Arcy, 31) sons. This violent conflict was seemingly imminent when one of Rhaenyra's sons perished, and she blamed Prince Aemond, who was Alicent Hightower's son (Olivia Cooke, 30).
