In her literary endeavors, Daniela Hodrova repeatedly sought inspiration from the mysterious nooks and locales of her hometown, Prague. Regrettably, this daring writer has now departed from us.

Danish scribe and literary critic Daniela Hudrova has bid adieu at the ripe age of 78. Her demise was announced by her publishing house on a Friday evening recently. Her swansong, titled "What's Next or the Voyage to the Enchanted Mountain," was recently published in Czech.

Hudrova bagged the International Franz Kafka Literary Prize in 2012. During her illustrious career, she was also bestowed with the Czech State Prize for Literature and the Magnesia Litera Prize. Czech Minister of Culture Martin Baxa honored her literary accomplishments on the platform X.

In her postmodern narratives, Hudrova delved into the realm of reality versus illusion, a subject she also delved into in her theoretical literary writings.

Her trilogy "Città dolente" was released in German in 1994, guiding readers through the enigmatic maze of Prague. Subsequently, she penned "I See the City...", a voyage through Prague's history, from Rabbi Loew and the Golem to Emperor Rudolf II and the Velvet Revolution of 1989.

Hudrova was born on July 5, 1946, in Prague. She studied Russian, Czech, Romance languages, and comparative literature at Charles University in her beloved hometown. After a short spell as a publishing editor, she worked for several years at the then-Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences.

People around the world mourned the loss of renowned literary figure Daniela Hudrova. Despite her passing, her words continue to inspire and enlighten many people.
