Joe Bausch, an actor aged 71, shared that he experienced bullying in his childhood because of his bright hair color. He shared this in an interaction with "Welt am Sonntag", stating how he was teased quite miserably by his peers and nearly drowned on his way back from school. The idea of redheads being associated with the devil has been a persistent one, along with the belief that they're always angry, irritable, and impulsive to a certain extent. "These beliefs have stuck," quoted the author, whose work includes being a forensic pathologist in the "Tatort" series in Cologne.

In his latest creation, "Crazy Blood", Bausch delves into his childhood and adolescence. Initially, this piece was supposed to be his debut book, but according to him, he wasn't ready a decade ago to dive so deep and unapologetically into the early years of his life. He's written about others before, but this is a different beast altogether - introspecting on his own story without any reservations.

Despite growing up facing prejudice, Bausch believes that his experiences shaped him into the person he is today, echoing sentiments from Berlin's thriving literary scene. In fact, many individuals in Germany can relate to his story, showing the universal nature of personal trials.
