- Recent appearance after a prolonged absence
After her cancer diagnosis became public knowledge, Princess Kate's (42) public appearances have been few and far between. She was last seen in an Olympic video clip, and her last in-person event was over a month ago at Wimbledon, where she awarded the winner's trophy to young star Carlos Alcaraz (21). However, recent images have surfaced, with "The Sun" obtaining some, showing Princess Kate of Wales attending a church service in Scotland.
King Charles III joins in the service
These photos were captured on August 25. Kate, accompanied by her son Prince George (11), was spotted in the car with Prince William (who was driving), with Kate seated comfortably in the passenger seat, dressed in a plaid blazer and a brown hat featuring feathers. Their destination was the Crathie Parish Church in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Other notable British royals were also in attendance. King Charles III (75) and Queen Camilla (76) arrived wearing vibrant Scottish tartan outfits and were seated alongside Prince Edward (60) and his wife, Duchess Sophie (59).
Princess Kate currently resides at Balmoral Castle with her family. This prestigious Scottish estate has been a summer vacation spot for the British royals, including Kate, who began visiting after her marriage to Prince William in 2011. Post-Queen Elizabeth II's (1926-2022) passing at Balmoral, the castle may hold even more emotional significance for the royal family.
In the past, Kate had spent the majority of her recovery time at her family home in Windsor, Adelaide Cottage, and at her holiday home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.
Duchess Kate's public appearance with her family at the Crathie Parish Church in Scotland was a rare sight, as her last in-person event was over a month ago. King Charles III and Queen Camilla were also present at the church service, adding to the notable British royals in attendance.
