Questioning Fitness of Kane and England for the European Championship?
In the recent past, Harry Kane from FC Bayern was sidelined due to back issues, and he was replaced during England's match against Denmark. Kane, the captain of the Three Lions, addressed his fitness and a peculiar proposition he received.
During a press conference in Blankenhain, England's National Team captain, Harry Kane, indicated that he's fully recovered after his back injury in May and is ready to play in all upcoming matches. "I believe I can play in every game. I felt as fit as an entire season during the first match. The knockout stage is the crucial part of the tournament. If we get eliminated, I'll have to deal with numerous questions. But I feel at 100%", Kane stated.
In the 1:1 game against Denmark, Kane was replaced by Ollie Watkins after 69 minutes, a rare occurrence. Gareth Southgate, the national coach, explained this by stating that Kane didn't play much in the Bundesliga season-ender. "The coach has a challenging job as we have numerous talented players – I will always support that", Kane added.
Southgate and Kane are facing criticism ahead of the group finale against Slovenia on Tuesday (9 pm CET). Although the first two games against Serbia (1:0) and Denmark brought four points, the performances evoked little brilliance. The BBC questioned, "Is England not fit enough to play pressing?" However, a win against Slovenia would ensure a perfect group stage.
During his Euros stint, Kane also interacted with the new Bayern coach, Vincent Kompany, as he disclosed on Sunday. "He just wanted to hear my thoughts about the previous season. It was only for ten minutes. Right now, England is my priority. But when I return, it will be wonderful to begin the new season with fresh ideas", Kane said about Kompany, who succeeded Thomas Tuchel at the record champions.
Scandalous Proposal for Kane
Kane still chuckles about it. A MDR journalist, thrilled about England's National Team visit to Blankenhain in Thuringia, made an inappropriate proposal to the Bayern player, Kane. "Can you imagine relocating to Thuringia? Would you stay?", the journalist inquired, already having a contract offer and a jersey for Kane to endorse.
The jest escalated when the journalist unveiled the detailed contract terms of the amateur club SG Lauscha/Neuhaus to Kane. In a playful manner, the journalist made a suggestive offer to Kane: "You would receive Thuringian Rostbratwürste as many as you like, drinks at the bar, and the minimum wage. You would also have more time for the National Team."
Kane humorously responded, "I need to discuss this with my agent and see what we can work out." The golfer courses in Thuringia particularly appeal to the Three Lions' captain "remarkably," as Kane pointed out.
"The way I have been welcomed in Germany is astonishing. It's fantastic here. Ever since I joined Bayern, it's been a fantastic experience. I simply wanted to express my gratitude for that", Kane expressed. Kane transferred from Tottenham to the Munich team last summer for a transfer fee of approximately 100 million Euros.
