Two siblings, Barbara Broccoli (63) and Michael G. Wilson (82), will be given a prestigious honor. They'll receive the Oscar Special Award "Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award" from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The organization revealed this news on a Wednesday.

The "James Bond" producers are being recognized for their hard work and dedication to filmmaking. Along with Broccoli and Wilson, US musician Quincy Jones (91) and US casting director Juliet Taylor will be receiving the "Academy Honorary Awards." Meanwhile, US screenwriter Richard Curtis (67) earns the "Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award."

Academy President Janet Yang (67) praised these individuals, expressing her excitement at giving them Oscars. "The recipients of this year's Governors Awards have set high standards in their remarkable careers, and the Governors of the Academy are delighted to present them with these honors."

Praising the Bond producers

About Broccoli and Wilson, the Academy head said, "Their selection as recipients of the 'Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award' is a testament to their success in producing the beloved Bond series and their overall impact on the film industry."

Broccoli and Wilson took over as the producers of the popular Bond movies following the death of their father, Albert R. Broccoli (1909-1996). During this time, Irish actor Pierce Brosnan (71) portrayed Bond in the hit franchise.

Academy President Yang added high praise for the other award winners. "Richard Curtis is an exceptional storyteller with a comedic touch, and his substantial charity work demonstrates the essence of the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award." She also highlighted Quincy Jones' musical genius and his impact on music. "Juliet Taylor has created iconic and beloved films, while introducing a new path for the industry."

All five individuals honored this year have shown "deep admiration for cinema" and made "an indelible mark" on the world of film.
