Duke of Westminster's Nuptials - Prince William was absent from the rehearsals.

On June 7th, Hugh Grosvenor, who is 33 years old and holds the title of the Duke of Westminster, will wed his partner, Olivia Henson. This high-society wedding of the year will host around 400 guests and will take place with Prince William present at Chester Cathedral. William, who is 41, serves as the usher for the event. "Hello!" magazine reported that William was not seen during the rehearsal on June 6th, even though he has an important role in the ceremony.

In his absence, Grosvenor and Henson were accompanied by Lady Edwina, Grosvenor's sister (42), and her husband, Dan Snow, a television presenter (45), during the rehearsal. William had to neglect the rehearsal because he was performing his royal duties at the time. He traveled to Normandy for the 80th anniversary of D-Day commemorations. William joined more than 25 heads of state, European royalty, and veterans from around the world in an international commemoration ceremony at Omaha Beach.

Prince William has experience as an usher

Still, we can assume William will handle his role at his close friend's wedding with ease, as he has done it before. Back in 2004, when Lady Edwina got married in the same cathedral, William and his brother, Prince Harry, escorted the guests to their seats.

Unfortunately, Harry won't be present for this wedding, as he might disturb the day with his ongoing feud with his brother. The King (75) and Princess Kate (42) are also not expected to attend, as also reported by "The Times."

Grosvenor has been linked to the royal family since birth as he is a part of one of the richest British families. Prince William made him the godfather of his firstborn, Prince George (10), and took on the same role for his firstborn, Archie (5). But Harry will not be present at this wedding to avoid causing any disturbances with his strained relationship with his brother.

  1. Despite being absent during the rehearsals due to his royal duties, Prince William will still serve as the usher at Olivia Henson's wedding to Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, on June 7th, as he had done for Lady Edwina's wedding in the same cathedral back in 2004.
  2. Interestingly, despite being a part of one of the richest British families and having served as the godfather to Prince William and Prince Harry's firstborns, Hugh Grosvenor's wedding will not be attended by his brother-in-law, Prince Harry, due to his ongoing feud with his brother, Prince William.
  3. In contrast to Prince William and Prince Harry, who both had significant roles in high-society weddings, Prince George and Archie, the firstborns of the brothers, have Hugh Grosvenor as their godfather, further linking the two families.
