Speculations about a possible visit of Prince William and Princess Kate to Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games have been circulating for some time. However, whether they will actually travel there depends on how the British heir's wife, who is battling a cancer illness, is currently feeling. An insider hints that the sporting mega-event could possibly be good for Kate, while another speaks of her great desire to attend.

Palace insider emphasizes: Small victories are important

According to the US magazine "People", it is indeed possible that the two royals could make an appearance in Paris. Both William and Kate are known to be sports enthusiasts, and one of their few public appearances after announcing her cancer diagnosis reportedly did Kate good, according to an anonymous source.

Princess Kate is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which hosts the Wimbledon Championships. She attended the men's final of the tournament and presented the trophy to the winner, Carlos Alcaraz (21), to a standing ovation. "That would have given her strength. She has been through something terrible and stressful, and it's important to have small victories to look forward to or that give you the courage and energy to keep going," the palace insider said. That was indeed the case for the princess at Wimbledon.

Olympic Games close to Prince William and Kate's home

"The princess would very much like to attend the Olympic Games," a source close to Kate revealed to the British tabloid "Daily Express" a few days ago. Kate has fond memories of the games in London in 2012 and would therefore like to attend the event again, as it is relatively close to home this year. However, the insider also emphasized that there was no firm decision on a visit at that time and that it would depend on how Kate was feeling and whether the doctors gave their approval.

William's wife is currently still undergoing treatment. In March, she announced that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy. In June, she spoke about having "good and bad days" but also hoped to be able to participate in some public appearances in the summer. According to British media reports, it is planned that Kate will spend the summer holidays with William and their three children - Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6) - in Scotland, as per tradition, with King Charles III (75) and his wife, Queen Camilla (77), at Balmoral Castle. It is currently not known when she will officially return to her royal duties.

Princess Kate's fond memories of the Olympic Games in London 2012 might encourage her to attend the 2024 Games, given that they will be held nearby. As a sports enthusiast like her husband, Prince William, Kate might find motivation and strength from attending such a grand event, as suggested by the palace insider.
