- Prince Harry needs staff <unk> the post of Chief of Staff is again vacant
Prince Harry appears to be back on the hunt for a new chief of staff. As reported by People magazine on Monday evening (August 12), his chief of staff, Josh Kettler, has left the position after just three months. Kettler was reportedly hired on a trial basis in May. Both parties have agreed to part ways, with reports suggesting they felt it wasn't the right fit.
Kettler took on the role of chief of staff for the British royal, who lives in America with his family, in May, just a week before Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's Nigeria trip. He also accompanied the king's son to London in May for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games. Before his role with the Duke of Sussex, Kettler served as chief of staff and head of strategic partnerships at the communication platform Cognixion, according to People.
Prince Harry and Meghan plan to travel to Colombia this year
In early August, Harry and Meghan announced plans to travel to Colombia later this year. Details of the trip have not yet been officially released. The couple is responding to an invitation from the country's vice president, Francia Marquez. Before then, it seems they will need to find a new chief of staff.
While the trip may resemble an official royal overseas visit, it will be a private trip for the couple. As with the Sussexes' Nigeria trip in May 2024, this is not an official state visit, as Harry and Meghan are no longer working royals.
For Harry and Meghan, this will be their first official joint trip to South America – and a chance for Meghan to showcase her Spanish skills. As a student, she interned at the US embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Duchess Meghan accompanied Prince Harry during his visit to London for the Invictus Games in May, where their new chief of staff, Josh Kettler, also joined them. Given Kettler's recent departure, Prince Harry may need to find a new chief of staff before their planned trip to Colombia later this year.
