The British heir's father, King Charles, 75, and his wife, Queen Camilla, 76, also travelled to France today. At the "British Normandy Memorial" in the village of Ver-sur-Mer, the monarch and his wife are scheduled to participate in an event alongside British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, 44, Labour Leader Keir Starmer, 61, and French President Emmanuel Macron, 46. This ceremony will honor the fallen soldiers.

Charles, during this anniversary celebration, delivered what's been described as his "second powerful speech." He spoke highly of the veterans, exclaiming, "We must stand together to resist tyranny." At an event on Wednesday, the 5th of June, in Portsmouth, Charles gave a heartfelt tribute to the veterans' courage, resilience, and solidarity. Reports say that he, too, seemed moved to tears during the ceremony.

On June 6th, 1944, known as D-Day, during World War II, allied troops invaded Normandy. This event is considered one of the most pivotal moments in the war's history.
