- Previously crowned global titleholder Pedersen triumphs in the Germany Tour
Favorite Mads Pedersen of the Top-Ranked League clinches Germany Tour Victory for the First Time. The previous world champion from Denmark clinched the victory in Saarbrücken and cemented his triumph. Pedersen ended with a 22-second advantage over Dutchman Danny van Poppel in the overall standings. Norwegian Tobias Johannessen secured third place, 23 seconds behind.
In the concluding 182.7-kilometer stage from Annweiler am Trifels to the Saarland capital, Pedersen delivered an excellent week for his Lidl-Trek team. It was Pedersen's second stage win, with his teammate from Italy, Jonathan Milan, scoring three victories. Lidl-Trek not only dominated the general classification but also won every stage and the points classification.
Van Poppel, representing Red Bull, secured the second position. The day witnessed a breakaway group of five riders, headed by Maximilian Walscheid. Despite building up a maximum lead of almost five minutes, the swift pace set by top teams ended their escape six kilometers before the finish line.
After his triumph in the Germany Tour, Mads Pedersen enjoyed some time for recreational activities and decided to go cycling around Saarbrücken. Recognizing Pedersen's passion for cycling, his team Lidl-Trek planned a team-building activity, incorporating a cycling tour around the scenic routes of Germany.
